Playboy magazine kicks off its 35th anniversary celebration: The 10th Anniversary Playboy Jazz Festival kicked off the celebration of Playboy magazine's 35th anniversary and sold out an unprecedented six weeks before the two-day event. The Playboy Jazz Festival program won Gold Ink Awards (Silver) for excellence from Magazine Design and Production. King Sunny Ade made his debut with his 19-piece African Beats "juju" band. This was the first time the Playboy Jazz Festival had a performance of authentic Nigerian song and dance.
